BCC Committee Statement
‘Over the last few weeks there has been much speculation and rumour about the West of England and South Wales Branch of the BCC.
At the event held by the Branch at Glewstone on 19th and 20th June 2010, there were, allegedly, certain incidents involving several individuals which are, we understand, now in the hands of the Police. We have also been advised of other matters relating to the organisation of the event which have given us cause for concern. The Committee of the BCC is not therefore, prepared, at this stage, to sanction any further events organised by the Branch. Reluctantly, the BCC will not be supporting the Cornwall weekend which was to be held in Goonhaven on 11th and 12th September 2010. This is regrettable but in the circumstances we do not believe that we have any alternative. In the meantime, we will be reviewing the situation carefully and will advise members, in due course, as to what will happen in the future. This is a very difficult situation for the Club, the Branch and for the Members but we hope that you will bear with us whilst the issues are dealt with and resolved.
Finally, we confirm that the Branch has not been disbanded. Once the status of the Branch Committee has been formalised, new Committee Members will be sought’
Please be aware than any event that takes place in Goonhaven on 11th and 12th September would not be under the auspices of the Bearded Collie Club, therefore neither would it be financed by the Club nor covered by it’s insurance.’
