Bearded Collie Club Championship Show - 3rd December 2022
Judges' Critiques
Dogs
I would like to thank the Officers & Committee for organising this well run show and to my 2 Stewards Liz Ayrton & Simon Luxmoor who kept the ring running well all day and to the exhibitors who entered some lovely dogs to go over. There was was some thought provoking classes which gave me cause for concern in the some of the classes. I like a male to look and feel the part to do a days work, some could be better off for bone. Weak skulls and level bites were also cause for concern in some of the earlier classes.
BIS – Harcourt-Brown's CH ORORA'S EMPEROR (Joint decision)
RBIS – Harcourt-Brown's ORORA'S ORIANA (Joint decision)
BPIS – White's MOONHILLS RODNEY TROTTER (Referee)
BVIS - O'Connell's CH MOONHILL SWEET DREAMS OF ATHERLEIGH (Joint decision)

This was an interesting class to judge, puppies of just 6 mths competing with puppies at the other end of the age bracket, as we all know Minor Puppies do grow at different rates and their proportions can change within a short time. Bitches
My sincere thanks to the membership of the club for voting me to judge the large, quality entry of bitches at this year's show which completes the full set of clubs for me. Also my thanks to my two stewards, Cath and Mark, for keeping things moving along nicely, and to my co-judge Graham, you are a pleasure to work with.
The entry was quite varied in quality as is normal in one of this size, but when each class comes down to decision time, the best always come to the fore. One thing which bothered me was poor toplines is several exhibits. This needs watching in any breeding programme. Shoulders were generally good and the best ones resulted in the display of the movement I was looking for.
