Survey into Pain Management for Osteoarthritis
As a past or current dog owner, you are invited to take part in a survey as part of research into pain management for dogs diagnosed with osteoarthritis, being conducted by the Harper Adams Unversity at Newport, Shropshire. Here is an extract from the relevant web pages :-
You are being asked to take part in a research study. Before you decide to participate in this study, it is important that you understand why the research is being done and what it will involve. Please read the following information carefully. Please ask the researcher if there is anything that is not clear or if you need more information.
The purpose of this study is to investigate dog owner perceptions, experiences and beliefs of the use of different methods of pain relief and physiotherapy for dogs with the condition osteoarthritis in the United Kingdom. The results of this study may be published in a research journal to help improve the treatment of osteoarthritis and chronic pain in dogs. This study has ethical approval from Harper Adams University.
The study is initially undertaken via an online survey that will take roughly 10-15minutes to complete. For you to take part, you are required to own or have previously owned, a dog that has been diagnosed with osteoarthritis by a Veterinary Surgeon. You will be asked some general questions about yourself and your dog, as well as questions on your thoughts and experiences related to pain relief and physiotherapy options for the treatment of osteoarthritis.
